So much happens in the course of a year. So much changes, so much grows. Much is molded, much falls off. It's beautiful and it's messy and sometimes you don't want to look, or you can't help but look back. It's an important part of life; that of reflection. Reflection helps us recognize changes that occurred and changes that need to still take place. It allows us to make the humbling statement: "Look what the Lord has done!"
But it is just as important to not stay in the memories and reflections of the past, and to look ahead to what is to come. To dream, to hope, to visualize the wondrous plans that a great God has for us...to recognize the reality of the statement: "The best is yet to come!"
I believe it is vital to properly reconcile, reflect and personally debrief every season of life. From there, I believe it is vital to look ahead with a heart full of wonder and hope, and a mind set on goals, dreams and visions of greatness for the future.
Proverbs 3:5-6 NKJV "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him. And He shall direct your paths."
